Airport Maintenance From A Pilot's Perspective

Reporting Infrastructure Changes An Important Concept

It's important for pilots to report changes to airport infrastructure in the event of outages and/or maintenance projects.

As pilots, we have a lot to think about when preparing for a flight. In fact, we're legally obligated. The Federal Regulation regarding Preflight Action (91.103), says, "Each pilot in command shall, before beginning a flight, become familiar with all available information concerning that flight."

Further, 14 CFR Part 91.3, Responsibility and authority of the pilot in command says, "The pilot in command of an aircraft is directly responsible for, and is the final authority as to the operation of that aircraft."
