Tree of Hope 2015 a success

Saturday, December 5th dawned sunny and warm, but high winds and turbulence kept some airplanes in the hangers. Surface winds were reported to be up to 20 knots from the south (which exceed the maximum cross wind component of some planes) and 45 knots at 3000 feet. Planes few in from all parts of the state to deliver their donations of toys for Tree of Hope. The airport ramp was crowded with planes most of the morning. Tree of Hope 2015 had a record 22 pilots fly in with toys, helping to spread a little joy this holiday season. In the next week or so, volunteers for Tree of Hope will be delivering toys to 39 hospitals across the state – from Duluth to Rochester to Fergus Falls.

As stated in a thank you note:

* Your recent special gift of toys will make an incredible difference for children spending time in the hospital during the holidays.

* You're touching the lives of so many patients and families served in our region by Sanford Health. Thank you for your generous gift!

A big THANK YOU to all who helped make Tree of Hope 2015 a success – to those who donated toys or money for toys, the volunteers that helped at the collections site and those that deliver the toys to the hospitals. Tree of Hope would not be possible without all of you. Because of you, there will be many smiles on little faces this holiday season!
