Fagen Fighters WWII Museum present new exhibit

Holocaust and POW Boxcar Exhibit presented with Transfer of Memory Memorial

In a moving ceremony to present the Holocaust and POW Boxcar Exhibit at the Fagen Fighters WWII Museum, speaker Charles Fodor, a Jewish citizen of Budapest relates his experience as an 8-year-old child during the war. Fodor and his grandmother were saved by a stranger from a line of victims walking to their death in a mass shooting on the banks of the Danube River. German Historian Dr. Joachim "Yogi" Reppman (seated behind Fodor) shared his experience with Ron and Diane Fagen, owners of the Fagen Fighters WWII Museum, who enlisted his assistance in procuring the boxcar for the exhibit, which is now on permanent display. Guest Speaker Steve Hunegs, Executive Director of the Jewish Community Relations Council, introduced the Transfer of Memory display to attendees of the Fagen Fighters WWII Museum at the day's events. This traveling exhibit illustrates the experiences of Holocaust survivors who subsequently made their residence in Minnesota. The exhibit will be at Fagen Fighters WWII Museum until mid-June.

Diane and Ron Fagen engaged in a two- year quest to find, transport, and restore a Holocaust Boxcar to the Fagen Fighters World War II Museum. Fagens created Holocaust and POW exhibit to honor veterans, and as a powerful reminder to us all of a dark time in the history of the world that must never be forgotten, nor allowed to happen again.
